With the new ADR options mandatory as part of the Reauthorization of IDEA 2004, the Facilitated IEP/IFSP is an early intervention option that can be extremely effective if implemented correctly. During this 3 hour skill-building interactive presentation the participants will: Explore the goal, purpose and requirements of a facilitated IEP/IFSP meeting; Recognize the role of the Facilitator to include what a Facilitator is and is not; Recognize the role of the participants; Identify the before, during, and after steps along with associated tasks of the Facilitated IEP/IFSP Meeting process; Discover positive engagement strategies to implement the tasks of each step in the F-IEP/F-IFSP process to maximize the chances for obtaining resolution; Monitor the completion of the suggested step tasks by utilizing a checklist of the F-IEP/IFSP process, allowing each participant to be able to track their work as the facilitator on future cases; Examine the benefits and challenges associated with a F-IEP/F-IFSP; Be prepared to implement the F-IEP process and/or train others in the F-IEP/F-IFSP process steps.
