Turning Conflict into Collaboration

In order to successfully navigate all of the change—and conflict—brought on by the pandemic, we need the skills and tools to solve problems with others. This workshop will teach participants a four-step collaborative problem-solving process for addressing issues between educators, families, and the variety of providers who support special education students. Participants will gain communication skills needed for collaborating with the diverse backgrounds, personalities, and communication styles, that are present in special education. Through lecture, guided discussions, and activities, participants will have an opportunity to connect with one another and develop an understanding of and appreciation for how different people approach conflict.
