Our cognitive biases impact all of our relationships especially when we interact with people from cultures different than our own. When left unchecked, biases can create conflict. So what can we do? This presentation will highlight research that shows how mindfulness can help mitigate three common forms of bias. Through both small and large group discussion, participants will explore the link between mindfulness, cultural competence, and conflict engagement. Strategies to integrate mindfulness techniques into practice will be offered.
