Crisis Recalibration Part 2: Restructuring the IEP

Teams must review and determine what compliant IEPs look like after extended school closures caused by the pandemic. This requires teamwork and overcoming challenges. You will learn how to recalibrate IEPs to provide FAPE based on NOW current educational needs and examine ways to refocus the IEP team on the current educational needs of a student post-crisis. You'll return to your district equipped to adapt through the crisis and be the change agent.

1. Identify NOW current educational needs and service gaps.
2. Adjust IEPs to target current educational needs.
3. Explore the difference between recovery services and compensatory education.
4. Re-strategize service delivery to address skill gaps.
