Treva is the proud mother of Syler and Sydney who happen to have disabilities. She has been advocating for them and others since 1993 and has worked for The Arc Tennessee since 2000. Treva graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Master’s in Family and Consumer Sciences and has completed Tennessee Partners In Policymaking and Project Leadership in Washington, DC. She shares her gifts by serving as the locally elected school board chair for Gibson County School District and as the secretary on Jackson Center for Independent Living’s board of directors and has also served on many other boards at the local, statewide, and national levels including the NConSD (the National Coalition on Self-Determination) in the past. Treva’s most cherished award was the Most Enthusiastic Advocate granted by her peers in Project Building Blocks (a 3-state project to improve early intervention).
