Ricardo Toland

Ricardo Toland is a Specialist for Informal Dispute Resolution (IDR) with the Due Process Department, Division of Special Education at the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Ricardo has held many roles in the LAUSD including classroom teacher for Students with disabilities, site administration, and district leadership. Ricardo has supported students with disabilities across Pre-K–12 in both Nonpublic and District school settings, ensuring access to individualized services and Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). In his current role, he leads efforts to strengthen LAUSD’s Informal Dispute Resolution (IDR) and Reimbursement processes, advancing equitable outcomes, collaborative problem-solving, and efficient resolution of disputes between families and schools.
