Rebecca Stone

Rebecca Stone has been a mediator for the Bureau of Special Education Appeals since 2012. She has conducted over 900 mediations in her tenure. In addition to mediating, she facilitates IEP Team Meetings and regularly presents at Special Education parent advisory committees, advocate trainings, and in school districts helping people of Massachusetts better understand mediation and use the process to promote meaningful and positive results. She has a master’s in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University. Prior to becoming a mediator at the BSEA, she was a restorative justice practitioner, where her work focused on juvenile offenders and their victims. She also was a Special Education teacher. She has three small children.
