Mildred Browne

The San Francisco USD SPED Consultant for ADR, Mildred Browne, has spent 30+ years as an educator and psychologist advocating for students and families whose needs full outside of the offerings of traditional school systems. Over the past five years, Dr. Browne has had an opportunity to focus her efforts on addressing disproportionality as it relates to the over-representation of specific subgroups in special education and subject to suspension and expulsion. Dr. Browne has promoted adopting an equity agenda for all by developing equity plans, facilitating district broadly representative stakeholders' Equity Advisory Groups and writing Significantly Disproportionate CEI"S Plans. In November 2011, Dr. Browne was appointed to the California Statewide Task Force for Special Education and to the Advisory Commission on Special Education in 2013-2014 to bring her expertise in special education and pupil services to the consideration of issues related to challenged populations.
