Lisa Pagano is a state contact and audit facilitator within the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the United States Department of Education. Lisa is responsible for resolving findings in single State audits and audits conducted by the Office of the Inspector General related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) funds. As a member of OSEP’s fiscal workgroup, Lisa provides guidance and technical assistance on fiscal issues related to the IDEA.
Lisa has worked extensively on issues related to the IDEA’s dispute resolution procedures. She is one of the key contributors to the document, Questions and Answers on IDEA Part B Dispute Resolution Procedures, issued by OSEP in July 2013. Prior to joining OSEP in 2006, Lisa worked for the Maryland State Department of Education where she directed Maryland’s IDEA complaint resolution activities and supported administration of the State’s IDEA mediation and due process systems. She received her master of social work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and her law degree from the University of Baltimore.
