Dr. Lanya (Lane) McKittrick is a research analyst at the Center on Reinventing Public Education, where she works on projects related to special education and families. Lane completed her PhD in Special Education at the University of Northern Colorado, where she is an adjunct faculty member. Her research interests are family-school partnerships, early student involvement in IEP’s, and transition. In addition to her professional interest in special education, Lane is also a mom to four boys, three who have disabilities. Lane is also the founder of a non-profit organization called Hear See Hope, and is an advocate for families and individuals who are deafblind. Much of her research stems from her experience as a parent and working with families.
