Kimberly Schulist is an attorney who has represented school districts in special education legal matters for over twenty years. She recently obtained her Masters of Law (LLM) in Alternative Dispute Resolution/Mediation from Pepperdine University's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.  As part of her LLM program, she wrote a paper entitled, "A Proposal to Create Special Education Ombuds Offices Throughout K-12 Schools," and is excited to share her research and findings as well as discuss how a Special Education Ombuds Office could assist school districts with resolving ongoing Covid-related special education issues. As a result of her experience in the field of special education law and her recent studies in ADR, her focus is to apply the ADR techniques to resolving special education matters.
