Karen Thompson

Karen Thompson serves as the Executive Director of the Access for Special Kids Family Resource Center, better known as “ASK”. She holds a degree in Psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and has held licenses as a Bachelor of Social Work and as an Advanced Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Karen has worked with at-risk populations in the areas of disabilities, mental health, trauma, substance abuse, and public health for the past 18 years; serving in a variety of roles including job coach, counselor, case manager, and administrator. One of Karen’s attributes is Dyslexia, and she was part of the first generation of Special Education recipients.
