Erik Lopez

Erik Lopez is an Informal Dispute Resolution Specialist with the Due Process Department, Division of Special Education with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Erik began his teaching career in Texas where he taught middle school science. Supporting students with special needs, including an inclusive Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, began his path towards earning his special education credential. Erik has served students and families of the LAUSD as a special education teacher for twelve years, and as a member of the Due Process Department for four years where he currently serves as an administrator. He has supported the district-wide roll out of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Process and continues to contribute to the development and refinement of systems to support schools and families navigate the informal dispute resolution process.
