Elizabeth A. Shaver is an Assistant Professor at The University of Akron School of Law where she teaches courses in Education Law, Special Education Law, Litigation Drafting and Practice, and Legal Writing. Before joining Akron Law, Professor Shaver worked in private practice, both as in-house counsel and as a litigation associate at the law firm of Jones Day. Professor Shaver received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University and J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School, where she was a member of the Cornell Law Review. Professor Shaver is a published scholar in various fields, including the field of special education law. Professor Shaver is the current President of the Board of Directors for the Ardmore Foundation, an Akron, Ohio nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life of adults and children with developmental delays and other disabilities.
