This interactive training equips participants with the knowledge, strategies, and practical tools needed to facilitate educational meetings, including IEP meetings, evaluation meetings, 504 meetings, and more. In the course, participants learn foundational principles of good meeting management and how to apply them to the educational environment. Topics include pre-meeting activities; setting the tone from the beginning, agenda setting, critical listening techniques (e.g., validation, questioning, reframing); and skills that maintain momentum, manage time effectively, and strategies to ensure the meeting stays on track. Additional focus will include how to acknowledge differing perspectives in a way that builds trust and reduce conflict. This training will reinforce understanding of IDEA requirements and other guiding regulations to ensure meetings remain compliant. By the end of this workshop, participants will be equipped with concrete tools and facilitation techniques to prepare for, structure, and lead special education meetings that are inclusive, efficient, and focused on student success.
